I will give you my thoughts and walk through the setup and tuning process, all the way to fine tuning bareshafts. Few pics to tide you over. Have any questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them

Awesome. Do you feel the string angle is like the nitrum 34?

At full draw, there is only 1/2" difference between the Defiant 30 and the Nitrum Turbo that has a 33 1/2" ATA to give you a comparison. These are both compared in the #2 cam for any clarification purposes.

#2 cam

You've got some of those $1k caps laying around as well I see.

The hats are an improvement as well

Here is my initial specs to start my tuning process.

#2 cam in the E slot 28" / 72.5#
436 gr Easton Carbon Injexion 330 spine with 2 D6 HIT inserts up front and 100 gr tip

Currently top cam is hitting just under 1/16 ahead of the bottom at full draw. Pre lean with an arrow running down the left side of the top cam is splitting the string at nocking point.

Centershot is 3/4" just off the front leading edge of the riser just above the rubber pad.

Nock height is sitting dead nuts nock level / 90* from the string

Here is a view pics to go with the above info

Quick question: How do the new parabolic limbs on these new Hoyts compare to any other bow that has had a similar design? Do they curve more at the limb tip than the others?

ok - two questions...

Yes sir, they do

Pics in the new finger and if you tried to press it in the old fingers it would not happen

I ask because I have never seen a Smackdown with the launchers sitting flat like in your pics. The Xtreme FC does but not any of the Smackdowns I have ever set up. Nor would a Smackdown work off the buss cable like an Xtreme FC would.

So what's up with that rest? Or am I just not seeing the pics correctly?

X2. Everything about that rest screams XFC Pro other than "smack down" being on the body.

As far as the shrink tubing, were you finding that the rest was staying up to long? Or, why the decrease in angle on the launcher?

As far as the shrink tube goes, the added build up gives the launcher a steeper angle and not so up right. Found better results like this on certain bows to get clean vertical nock travel.
