.243 cartridge in a 6.5?

As you might guess, it does not work out well. I had 4 guns I was sighting in and put an ELD-X .243 in a 6.5 PRC. It blew the plastic bolt shroud into my face and exploded the magazine. I was able to put the magazine back together but the shroud was destroyed. A bit of a gouge on my face, which is a penalty for being stupid, but otherwise just a lesson to pay attention. Just ordered a metal shroud from Tikka.

I shot a 22-250AI fire forming load in my 6.5CM. No harm no foul, but I did waste a 22-250 Lapua case. Those 2 cases with ELDms loaded look awfully similar.

Tried to load a 6.5cm into my 7saum. Loaded great. Didn’t fire, didn’t eject. Lifted the barrel to the sky and it popped out. Oh, then I did it again about 20 seconds later. Apparently I loaded the magazine with 6.5cm instead of 7saum. It was on my daughter’s elk hunt. She was NOT impressed.

Since this thread title was posed in the form of a question, my answer is absolutely no. I mean seriously no. 😳🤔Glad you’re OK.
