300 WSM on Defiance XM action

I have a Defiance Tenacity XM action (proprietary length, not XM+) and I have a proof 24' 30 Cal blank sitting around. I was holding out to trade the action for a LA Mag and build a 30 Nosler. My buddy is convincing me to scrap that take what I have and build a 300 WSM on the XM Mag. Anyone have any data points with a build they have done similar to this? I am looking to shoot multiple bullets from it as small as 170 up to the 215 Berger, all out of ADG brass.

You aren't going to be limited by COAL with a 215 berger seated well so basically any info out there using a 300 WSM without mag length constraints should apply. There has been a fair bit of it posted in the past.

Reamer should have 200-225 freebore for 215s to not be below neck/shoulder junction.

I have an Anti XM in 300 WSM. Right now I shoot 180 Elite Hunters right around 3.150”. With H4350 I get about 3010’ out of a 20” tube. It’s a hammer. I’ve shot all sorts of bullets out of it though. 175 BD2, 175 VLD, 190 VLD, 200.20x, 205, etc. have lots of data for all.

Only problem I’ve ran into is it can be finicky to feed.

Put a straight stack box in it and it’ll feed super slick.

Who makes that? Does that work with BDL?

Wyatt’s makes an extended center feed box and that’s what I use on my .300 wsm short action. But you shouldn’t actually need it on an XM length. By design, it should be about the perfect length. Most all of the feeding trouble you hear of is with guys loading long bullets in a short action.

I have a 6.5prc on an Anti XM and it feeds flawlessly. Pretty similar dimensions to a .300 wsm.
