I built up a 6.5 Saum a while back. 22" Brux 1-8.5" #3 contour, on a Rem 700 SA. At the time, Rem brass was all that was availble, so I converted 100pcs of .300 SAUM brass. At this point I have fired those 100cases, and I'm ready to seriously start working on a load. I have RL26, H1000, H4831SC, H4350, N160, N165. I'm thinking 123 scenars for coyotes and 140 bergers for deer. Anyone have words of wisdom to share?

H1000 is what I would try first, then h4350.

Running h4350 in my 7 saum and while it’s a slower load it’s boringly accurate.

I'm on my 4th load work up for different 6.5 saum use RL 26 because it makes more fps than everything else but it will carbon ring you if you don't keep it clean.
H1000 with Berger 140's is easy enough to get tiny groups. 61 to 63 is the spot depending on the reamer and throat geometry.
Also I have had three of them on evo's so it's not the same gun. Work up to these as they are max loads.

Thanks guys. Rifle was chambered with one of the earlier GA Prec. spec reamers. Initial loads were with a very old lot of H1000, and I couldn't get 140 amax above 2650 fps! At the time, I didn't have any other suitable powder, so I just loaded up the cases I had prepped and shot them over the next couple of years. Now I have 100 1F cases, a new lot of H1000, and some RL26. I look forwrd to digging it back out and seeing what it will do.
