Just curious if anybody had any experience with the factory 150 ELD-X ammo and how it performs on game. Curious to hear how it does at any and all ranges.

285 yards on > 400 lb cow elk. She walked 10 yards and collapsed.

Used Hornady PH 280 Rem 150 gr ELD-X.

Bullet entered just behind right shoulder and passed through opposite side. Direct impact on rib entering and glancing rib impact exiting.

My wife shoots 7mm-08 150 gr eld-x and I shoot 7mm rem mag 162 gr. Both are tikka rifles. I’ve had great results on the range out to 400 yards, the furthest my wife will shoot is 200. I have taken multiple mule deer within 200 yards and they have ran maybe 30 yards and drop. Awesome bullets for us so far, they are all I will use for deer and elk. Great expansion at a wide velocity window.

150 gr. out of a 280, so a bit faster than your 7-08, it was quickly lethal on small does and bucks, 85 yards to just under 200. It opens fast and does a lot of damage. For deer it’s best to avoid the shoulder imo, will waste meat.

I shoot the 150 eldx in .280 ackley, Its a great bulley. I will load them in my 7mm08 this year.
