Howdy, i just ordered a CVA accura mr x 50 cal, and was hoping someone could give me a starting point with a good load. Id like to cut out some costs and experimenting. Thank you.

Myself and buddy have the LR-x .50 he is having good results with the Thor bullets, as well as 325 powerbelt ELR with 86 grains of black horn 209. I have had good results with Parker production 300 grain ballistic extremes with a magnum rifle primer and 85 grains of Blackhorn 209

300 grain Thor Hammer and 110 grain (volume) of Blackhorn 209 with Federal primer. VERY accurate in my MR-X. Get a sizing pack for the Thors and see which is best for your rifle. Mine prefers the .500 and I couldn't even get the .501 down the barrel without pounding it in. So...for me, .500 was the ticket. Goes down really easy and shoots really well. Holding 2"-2.5" at 200 yards with mine and my Burris Signature scope.

I have shot both 90 grains and 100 grains by volume in my MR-X 50 caliber using the ELR Power belt and a Winchester 209 primer. All were under an inch at a 100 yards

Bump...any more loads that shoot well in the .50 cal MR-X? I did not have good results on deer with 250gr PowerBelt Aerolites and 100gr by volume of BH209.

I get pretty good results with the ELR 330 grainer and 96 grains (by weight) triple seven FFF loose powder.

209 primers? I see there are adapters that work for large rifle primers, but don’t believe that will help in the velocity department.

Yea, i use fiocchi. They work fine for me. Not sure if rifle primers would be better or not. I dont think im going to waste 215's to experiment.

Thats MEGA overcharge no?

Example: 84 grains of BH 209 is 150 grains by volume equivalent. Don't know about 777....

Triple 7 is in the name. 77.7 grains by weight is 100 grains by volume. So by my calculations, 96 grains by weight is 123.5 grains by volume.

That’s ballpark. When I measure 777, I get:

100 grV 2F 777 is 82.3 grW ave
100 grV 3F 777 is 85.7 grW ave

So 96 grW of 3F 777 would be 112 grV. So, yeah, a long way from max charge.

Same thing I'm using. Have thought about trying rifle primers but if it's not broken...
