Hello,
I'm looking for any info on two bows that I was given several years ago from my father's hunting stuff. He took care of all his archery stuff and they are in good shape. I've had several shoulder surgeries and won't be getting into Trad Archery any time soon. I'm looking for best place to get a rough value and place to sell them if possible. They are an American Archery from Oconto Falls, WI Shark model 62" 45-28" recurve and an American Saxon longbow, 64" 55# @28"
thank you in advance.

Those are in incredible shape.

You can check comparable on Bay. The guys on the Leatherwall forum can tell you...and sell them on Archery talk for best exposure.

Worth mentioning....lots of old bows out there...don't be surprised if they aren't worth as much as you think.

Thank you for the info.. not really looking to make a bunch of money on them, just feel bad they are sitting collecting dust. I appreciate the info!

The guy the makes my longbows worked at Saxon for a good while. I could put you in touch with him to find out what you would like to know. Let me know
That would be great. Could you message me his info?
Thanks.

Those are nice bows. You might take a look on Vintage Archery - information on many older bows. if you haven't shot them, you should - they are fun!

Saxon Archery was owned by Randy Deihnal (SP?)

He passed a few years ago so no longer makes bows. Saxon bows are some of the finest bows to ever be made, in my opinion. He was a true craftsman. I’ve owned a few in my time. Smooth and FAST for a recurve or long bow.

I’d say $400-$500 on the Saxon. Depending on where you try to sell it.

Leatherwall and the traditional groups on Facebook are great places to sell where people know what they are looking at.

Just learned of a new website today - traditionaljunk.com The guy who runs the site does some appraisals but also has a lot of old bows for sale. You might want to give him a call. Best of luck!
