just like the title states, anyone else on here like doing multi day whitewater trips?
I got skunked in the river permit lottery this year.
The wife and i did a cool trip in alaska last year floating the Chilikondrotna river out of Lake Clark national park. roughly 100 miles and did not see another human until the plane picked us up.

Not whitewater but have done several float hunts and usually several multi-day fishing float trips a year.

I’d like to hear more about the chili, did y’all fish?

Funny you posted this. I'm heading out here in 10 minutes to pick up my new 16ft NRS raft and frame. We do the Deschutes, John Day, and other OR rivers quite often and looking to expand to other states soon.

We also struck out on river lottery permits but hopping on someone else's Rogue W&S permit!

I'm new to boating, but hooked! I have a permit for a Main Salmon launch on 6/18. Leaning on more experienced friends to start safely getting experience. So far just kid friendly multi days and day runs on class 3.

The chili was just a great trip. The weather sucked big time, mid 50's and rain for the 9 days on the river. but we never saw another human. The hardest part of the trip was all the wood in the river. Multiple braided channels with lots of wood, made for some interesting anxiety. I did have to cut stuff out of the way twice. My wife fishes and she did pretty good. We also ate a fair amount of fish.

the Proeneke cabin is just bad ass and was pretty cool to see.

Mtnbkr208 that looks like a great trip. I’m a long time multi day rafter too, have floated lots of rivers but still have many left on the list. Not much better than early morning coffee on the river.

Myself and everyone I know that applied got skunked on river permits this year. It's almost as difficult as drawing good hunting tags now.

Great photos, I still remember watching Alone in the Wilderness on PBS when I was younger and wishing I could do the what he did.

Just got off a multi day float down the Chama River in NM. Always thankful for any chance to get out on the river!

How was the hunting? I've done the Deschutes River for deer for years, but always wanted to try out the JD. I know that river very well from summer and winter floats.

Used to do Ruby/Horsethief every year along with the Chama and the Gunnison..after a number of years organizings trips I ended up being the pseudo guide having to tend to a bunch of beer cruisers which ended up taking the fun out of it so I haven't done one in a while. Might have to find a small manageable group and give it a try again.

It’s not the west but we do float and camp, even through some wilderness. We float, camp, fish, practice pooping outside, and put mayo on hotdogs.

Lake hopping here. Did spend a few days on the Reindeer and Churchill but lots of lake hopping to make those part of loops. Paddled Mill Creek through Shawnee a few years ago, but that's just a "day trip" when the water is up.
