Never had him scored and honestly don't know much about scoring caribou, thanks in advance.

I don't know about score but find it super interesting there is a running suit in the harvest picture curious on the events that made that happen.

That was a ski shell jacket and bibs for rain gear. Was bow hunting "traditional" but we had no chance with bows due to lack of cover. It was a cold nasty day when I climbed up and killed him with the lever action 444 bear gun at 300 yds.

Love the velvet mount. Is that the original velvet or artificial?

Thats a nice looking bull. Caribou are funky. They can look very impressive but not score worth a dang.

I'd guess that one around 310. Congrats! Cool you shot him with a 444. Doubt many have been taken with one of those!

Dexter shot that bull off a ranch feeder in west texas is my guess! LOL

here's a good rep of a 300+ bull for reference...not as big as the brute Dex shot though. This one is from the Western Arctic Herd this year.

The antler width proved too wide (51") to mount in my 48" wide stairway. Took the pilot several attempts to fit it whole inside the plane.

Left it at the kill site for a couple days in full velvet. That's how it looked after a brown bear molested the carcass and gut pile. That bear EVERYTHING hair, bones, guts, and face. Left only the lower jaws but chewed them pretty nubbed too. Wish I could have seen that. Lucky to get the antlers in one piece, had to leave them whole right?

Larry, your bull would score a bit more than Dexters, imo.
