Damn tough buddy, and I said goodbye to my old bird dog and friend earlier this summer. He was 12 1/2. Take care and like the title suggests, celebrate his life and times together.

Sorry for your situation. Damned tough to say "goodbye" to a family dog. Condolence s to you and your family. One thing I hope you consider is getting another dog soon. Our lives are richer with canines in them.

Anyone that says this doesn’t spend much time hiking where they run into sheep dogs. Sheep dogs can go straight to hell.

There truly is nothing like a good dog and they are the best friend anyone could ever have.

We just had to put our 8 y/o lab down very unexpectedly due to liver failure. This brings a tear to my eye. Tell him to look out for Annie up there. What I'd give for five more minutes with her. Enjoy every single second of his last time with you. Hang in there.......

Man, it always always sucks. I've done it WAY too many times. And I'll do it again because I can't imagine life without a dog and what they provide you.
