Colorado preference points

If I missed the 4/4 application, is it too late to buy elk/deer points? Will I lose my current points if I hadn’t missed any years before this year?

Thx

Yes it’s too late. Colorado only allows preference point accumulation during the draws (can’t buy them after the deadline). Good news is you won’t lose them if you miss a year.

Thanks, all! I’m not sure I have 10 years of Western archery hunting left in my body!!

Y’all were spot on. CPW confirmed that I was too late, but my points are good for 10 years of no activity. #badandgood

PPs are good for 10 years without applying
Which is a very long time compared to other states. That would be an easy place to clear out PP, sort of low hanging fruit, from people who already don’t care. CPW could easily make it 2-5 years then you loose your points. Probably won’t make much difference in draw odds though.
