Hi all,

Couldn’t find any threads on the ole peacemaker, which was surprising so figured I’d see if there are enough folks here to share some info, pics and discuss.

I personally have just entered the world of the SAA and recently acquired two guns that I have always wanted, but the opportunity had yet to present itself. Still learning a ton about these revolvers and excited to get my hands on a couple more. Pretty happy about my finds.

1956 2nd Gen, VERY early production Single Action Army 38 special, 5.5” barrel. Serial number: 13**SA. I can only imagine this was made within the first month or two after Colt reintroduced the SAA. It’s been fired, but is in amazing condition.

1972, new in box and unfired (according to original owner, and I don’t doubt it but can’t be sure) Colt New Frontier 22/22wmr. The 22 cylinder has been turned, but it doesn’t look like the wmr cylinder has ever even been in the gun. This gun has with it in addition to the box, the original manual, wax paper, warranty card and purchase receipt for $89.95. Oh how I wish it only cost me that much 😂

Any other SAA owners out there? Anyone know enough to shed some light on this very early 2nd Gen? Wish it was a 45, but happy with the 38 and for the upcoming opportunity to find a 45 to go with it!

Here are some pics

I can’t help, but they are fun to shoot. My father gave my wife an early model that’s a 45 colt rimless.
