Want to try one of these out, preference to the 1 in 9 twist version. Open to 308 or 7-08 possibly but only if you’ve got some quality ammo to sell with it lol.

Cash, or I have a couple 10x binos I could offer in trade, Zeiss SF 10x42 and EL 10x50

Appreciate it, looked at that one a few times. I think it’s a little optimistic on price, the 270’s I’ve seen sell don’t seem to go for as much as some calibers. Granted, I’m posting here because it’s not like you can buy one off the shelf right now - beggars can’t be choosers I suppose but I’m not willing to pay that

Actually i think the fast twist 270's are gonna be more valuable, way more 6.5 creedmoor's for sale than anything else. That may be your best bet if you want to stay south of $2500.

I have the 30-06 and love it - but I think the fast twist 270 would be the sweet spot for a Fieldcraft. My 30-06 scoped is less than 6.5# - and with relatively stiff 180 handloads it is on the snorty side with a pretty good jump!

I have 4 fieldcrafts. 30-06, 270, 6.5, and a 7-08. I think I prefer the 270. The 6.5, and 7-08 are great but being that light I find the 270 quite a bit easier to shoot well.

I will agree with runningwater, I took my 06 elk hunting this year and before I went I shot it some with 180s and it’ll hit ya pretty good. It’s not brutal but it’s pretty snappy. Long story short if I could only have one I think it would be the 270. It’s versatile, shoots well, and I just like the feel of it better than the short actions

Good to hear the positive review. I have mostly hunted with a 270 so it's just a matter of preference for me, but glad to hear you like it. Only others I'd really look at are 308 and 7-08, but they seem to command a higher price plus I'd have to track down ammo which now is the wrong time to be doing that. However I haven't seen one of the 1-9" 270's on the used market so who knows what one might go for, but I'd be fine with a 1-10" as well.

Thanks

Well, whenever you decide to sell that 7-08 you let me know lol. I've got plenty of ammo for that beast lol
