Glass Question - Same model, new vs older, is there a difference?

I have always wondered - is there a difference in the quality of the glass if I buy , for example, Swaro ELs from 7 years ago vs brand new? Is there a chance that coatings or other things change from year to year with the same model?

If it’s the same model from a high quality maker then I haven’t seen a difference in the few among my friends.

I have seen differences in cheaper glass.

It’s all about how well the manufacturer controls quality. Obviously, high quality optics, manufactures, hold much higher standards.
