Indiana hunter

Hello all I’m new to the area of Franklin indiana and looking for some people in the area like minded as me to the world of hunting. I’ve grew up hunting the public land mountains of Virginia and West Virginia but took a mechanical superintendent job in the Indianapolis area. I’m planning on hunting public land south of here but would love to find some private ground to hunt also. Attached is my public land Virginia buck from last year.

I am new here and to hunting in general, but I am in the suburbs of Indianapolis. We are going to Hoosier National Forest for public land hunt when the season opens. I haven't had much luck finding private land as I didn't grow up hunting and have very little connections with it.

Just rifle this year. I just got a beginner bow and have been practicing, but a year out probably before I would feel comfortable.

I'm a little north of you guys it seems but have been chasing doves around the farm for the past few days.
29 over the weekend.

I'm from NE Indiana but try to get the the Hoosier National Forest or one of the state forests down around there. I only bow hunt and there is plenty of room to find places with little hunting pressure in my opinion. Not sure if ill make it down there this year with some of my other hunts planned.
Its been a great place to learn some "big woods" hunting and to prepare for out of state hunts. Things to look for and other things to avoid.

I live south of Indy also. Do any of you fellas waterfowl hunt? I prefer to hunt with a buddy for safety reasons when your involving a boat, in the dark, in freezing cold water. Just trying to make some connections for the upcoming season.

Never waterfowled before but I make a hell of a deckhand if your looking for a buddy to hunt with. Always willing to try something new. I live in Indy

Same here. I put it for a few waterfowl draws with the DNR.

Also live in Indy (northeast side).

Mt nephew is from the Ft. Wayne are, he will be on his friends farm this weekend looking to kill his first buck. That is if he can put his phone down long enough to shoot.

Putting the phone down is pretty huge. My first year "hunting" I stayed on my phone. Thought I would hear the deer. Young and dumb.
