Knight secondary safety

Can I just leave it red so I can use the regular 700 style safety ? Does it reset every reload ?

Yes, you can leave the screw-in safety on fire. It doesn't reset by itself. When I hunted with a Knight, I only used the screw-in safe when pulling it up and letting it down out of a tree.

I only use it for getting in and out of a tree stand. I will use it when doing load development as well because I load my gun in my gun room then walk outside to shoot. I leave it off usually and it does not reset by itself.

I use a Knight for elk hunting out West. I leave the secondary safety on when hiking in, but I make it red when I'm near the animals. My first time out, I made the mistake of leaving both safeties on while hunting and it cost me a shot.

I put mine on red and super glued it there so there’s not a chance of an accidental second safety on an animal

I have never closed the secondary safety on any Knight rifle except for during bolt maintenance.
