Anybody heard any more on the new Kuiu tents?

Some confirmed specs possibly?

I know they're not supposed to be released till this summer, but I though one of the "industry insiders" would have some info (or a early run tent) by now.

We just finished a review that went out with EHJ 142. As far as we know, we were the first to get our hands on it for a review. Specs are listed there as well as a video overview.

There was a video of it at the Expo in the blog here on Rockslide, but I can't find it now.

For a 3 season tent there are definitely lighter options out there. There are lighter 4 season options too.

So its only a 3 season?

I was under the impression from the scuttlebutt rumor mill that it was being called at worst a 3.5 season?

I had not heard prices yet either. $450 for a two person, even if its a 3.5 season is a bit steep.

I was really liking the idea of the external pole system.

I like hillebergs external pole system best. but if you think $450 is expensive you won't like hillys very much then!

wow, is talking kuiu still off limits on here or is everyone scared?

Here are my thoughts on what I saw.

Looks like a decent tent that will function well. As I have read else wheres, it sure does look a lot like the Elixir tent. I never did hear if they were offering a footprint for it. Nothing I would take backpacking, but a nice option when car camping to save wear on the floor.
