I need some advice. I have a Manfrotto 190MF3 with the 322RC2 head and I’d like to know if there is a better setup for this tripod because the 322RC2 head is so heavy. I’d like to be able to use this for my Binos as well as my spotter.

Do I need to get a new column or adapter if I end up replacing the head? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Probably a 3/8 stud under there, maybe 1/4. There are adaptors to go from one to the other if needed. So while not ideal, you should be able to use the current center column. You can then add anything from a $20 Amazon soft rifle rest to a RRS anvil-30 for $400. Leofoto, Spartan precision, and others make workable options. All lighter than your current head. Some require a pic or ACRA rail on your rifle, some a proprietary adaptor, some nothing.
