I saw that yesterday as well. Hadn't heard anything about them before that.

Wonder what that orange knob is for, other than making it more difficult to get in/out of a rangefinder pouch?

I believe that knob is to adjust the amount of “noise” in your view. It has a different setting for trying to range in thick forest vs open ground. I think.....

Haha good catch.. that seems like it's going to be an issue going in and out of some rangefinder pouches.

I got a chance to briefly use the Maven RF-1 about a month ago (before it was released) and if I was in the market for a range finder I would buy this one.

No ballistics outputs? That’s a bummer, but I get that mobile app development would be involved and Maven is a small outfit that probably doesn’t have a solution for that quite yet.

Does that knob get in the way of the rangefinder pouch? It seems like it would.
Actually, I did not even notice the knob.

I was handed the range finder by a Maven executive, I ranged a couple items, one of which was a known distance and then I handed it back to the Maven exec.

As I mentioned above, I liked the display because it was sharp and easy to use and the size of the range finder was "handy".

I did not have an opportunity to place the range finder in a pouch designed for such use and remove it so I can not speak to the knob getting in the way.

"Maven executive", that made me lol.

I'm guessing its not a huge deal but being orange, it really stands out. It seems like a unique feature that I haven't seen before. Will be interested to try it.

I have been using one for a few months. I like that it's a little bigger in size than a Leica or Sig. I thought the knob would get in the way too. But with the two pouches, I am using it seems to be fine. The knob does make it easy to move through the settings. The angle compensation matches my other rangefinders. The laser is strong and accurate when compared to my Leica RF and Zeiss RF binoculars. I hope they keep the same chassis when they make a ballistic rangefinder.

This looks pretty neat. Has anyone operated this in single digit temps? That is one reason I think the razor 4K is also a solid choice as it’s temp rating is down to -4.

@Ryan Avery, have you ranged any animals past 2000 yards with it?

I have, kind of in the mountains I was hitting elk at 2150 but it was on a steep angle so it had a backstop behind it. I will try this week on flatter ground.

Had it in the low teens for a few days no issues.
