Metatarsalalgia/Capusulitis

Anyone suffer from these? If so...could you point to a source or cause, ie....bad/improper fitting footwear? And is there any upside?

Booking an appointment w podiatrist, Foot pain right behind 2nd toe becoming a daily challenge

I've had second toe capsulititis for awhile, caused by damage farther back in the foot resulting in improper weight distribution when I walk that pushed out the second toe. I was wearing a hole in the insoles of my boots the size of a grape at the point of the second joint of the second toe.

My podiatrist recommended a metatarsal cookie placed under the insole at the first joint in the second toe to lift it back in to position an it has worked great. No more capsul on the second toe, the toe has straightened out and pain is almost gone.
