Need a new hunting rig

Got around 6 K in this Tahoe. Has 305/70 R16 (33x12) and gets around pretty decent. Flexes enough to get it done but still does great at 80 on the interstate.

I need it to last me a few more years until I can buy the truck I really need (2500 diesel)
If you are buying the new truck and it is a few years out, that sounds more "until I can buy the truck I really 'want'" - ?????

The 6k range will get you into some higher mileage (200k+) or older (early 2000's) Toyota's (4Runner, Landcruiser).

How many kids you have? I have a Supercrew F150 with 6 seat belts. It's been solid for me but I never drive it any more with my other truck. PM me if interested. It's a salvaged title and been used and abused but still very solid mechanically. 180k

I bought a 2002 super crew f150 a month or two ago. Needed it to fit 2 car seats in the back. Nice truck for what I want to use it for. Seams to do well in the snow with new tires.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned a first gen Toyota Sequoia yet.
Good point! We have a 2003 Sequoia, paid $6k for it two years ago. It’s been a fantastic vehicle. Wheelbase isn’t too long, tons of interior space, the 4.7 V8 has decent power, Toyota quality and reliability. They’re kind of the forgotten Toyota and as such prices are pretty low. We have two kids and a dog and the size is prefect in my opinion. I’ve owned a couple 3rd gen 4runner’s, 1st gen Tacoma and they’re great off road but they’re very small, interior space is tiny.

I have a 2007 Lexus GX470. They might be the most over looked 4x4 out there. And they have v8 power. You can pick them up in your price range. I picked a low mileage one a few years ago, plan to run it to 300k+, it just turned 150k. You can fit deer in the back, lol.

I have been eye balling some Sienna mini vans, Journey off road makes a lift kit for it, AWD and lots of room, good on gas too.

Worried it may not be good for some tougher trails though. I wish Journey would put some videos up off roading it!

The Sequoia are tempting but fuel eaters!

Sienna's suck, I've had 2..

Can't go wrong with a 4runner or older land cruiser..

We want to get a bigger travel trailer so the 1500 won't work for that anymore and I can't spend 50k+ until my wife's car is paid off which is 3ish years out depending on how many double payments I make. I know once I get a new truck I won't want to beat it up in the woods like I have my current 1500 so I may as well get it out of the way now. I don't mind high mileage for the right rig. I can fix whatever I need to.

What’s wrong with your current truck?
Nothing major yet. Last year I did water pump, power steering pump, cv axles, wheel bearings, ect. Right now it needs struts and shocks as well as a basic tune up. Every year I find myself doing a little more and a little more. I'd like to keep it from falling apart completely until I can trade it in. Plus I'd like a slightly shorter wheelbase and more interior space.
