New hobby camera

My girlfriend wants to get into photography. Just of us and our travels.

I have a Sony a500.

Would that be something. Good to start with or is there something else I should look at under 1500 to start ?

The best camera is the one you have with you…or something like that!

For that price range, you will likely be better off sticking with the A500, especially if you already have decent lenses for it.

If you need lenses, look at used ones. If it gets to the point of getting expensive lenses, then pick the camera system you want and get a new body.
