Been lurking for a bit after hearing of this site on the gritty bowmen podcast (good stuff by the way!). Myself and a buddy are heavy in archery whitetails and waterfowling around the rut. My friend, my dad, and I are starting to plan an elk hunt in wy for 2017. Looking for any help on zones to look at. We want the traditional mountain experience. Backpacking in however far it takes. For the most part any elk is good. Not worried about grizz or wolves. Considering archery hunting maybe rifle hunting??? Sorry for the longwinded intro!

Hi Manosteel,
welcome to the site.
For Idaho, I'd recommend the Beaverhead Zone on the east side of Idaho, or the McCall on the west side for starters.

Trying to make sense of the Wyoming general tags vs limited draw. Seems like a lot of the general tags are on rough ground. trying to find rough ground that other people don't want to work through but still want to DIY
