Well, after laying up some different test pieces with and without vacuum, there’s no way I’d get a smooth finish below 20 ounces without a negative mold and vacuum. I haven’t given up on the idea, but it’s on hold until an existing stock is reworked and a proper mold made of it. A couple of interesting stocks were ordered.

I can remember seeing a Millet stock back in the 1980s and thought that was really cool - well a new old stock popped up for $90 so I jumped at it. Just like back to the future, this thing is right out of the mid 1980s and has 1986 written on the box. The sling attachments are weird, but the shape, fit and overall feel of it are great! Lol

It’s no lightweight at almost 28 ounces, but the molded in checkering and texture paint are actually nicely done. It says Kevlar, but at the time that meant a little Kevlar and a lot of fiberglass, which is probably why it’s no lightweight. It’s odd that it was only available for the ADL and in the instructions they tell the BDL owners to just order the ADL trigger guard from Remington. 🙂

Memory is no help coming up with a price for this thing back in the 1980s, but I can remember it was up there above $200 when an ADL 700 was in the $325 range. It’s a cool old vintage stock - definitely worth $90.
