If your building a 0 to 10 degree down quilt all things equal what's your toe box preference? Have you noticed any difference in toe box style ?

It may just be me, but I've noticed an extreme trend that most people's first quilt is an open/draw string closer style so they can use it as a blanket as well. Then future quilts always seem to have fully insulated toe boxes so a draft doesn't come in from the draw string closure. I noticed this so I skipped ahead and went fully insulated toe box, no regrets yet.

For a 0 to 10 degree I wouldn't even consider a draw string closure. My next quilt(s) will all be sewn footbox for warmth, simplicity, and weight savings.

I don't get the whole draw string closure thing. Can't understand why anybody would want a hole next to their feet. Now if I wanted to take my quilt home and use it on my bed, that may be another thing but frankly, I can go to Bed Bath and Beyond for one of those.

I like the draw string closure. When its warm its nice to get a little airflow. Theres no draft when cinched down if its done right.

I used a 20f quilt in a hammock with a draw string foot box. It sucked when temps were less than 25-40f. I had to stuff my spare pair of socks in there or my puffy depending on how cold my feet were getting. Summer weight quilts? Sure have at it with a draw string & snap closure. Anticipating colder than 40f? I'd get a sewn footbox.

Thanks for all the feet back guys. I use draw string closure in my 20 degree quilt without issue. However I can’t see the rational for it a 0 degree quilt ...the foot box closed seems like it’s more appropriate for it. Thanks for the confirmation.
