Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

Man that’s all up to the shooter. I will tell you when I got it I put an 11oz Swaro z3 with Talley lightweight rings on it and shot 20 rounds through it at the range. I actually mentioned to my brother the recoil was much less than I expected(not sure why)

It felt much less than a Ruger M77 .300WSM I had. Also felt less than my .270.

Then I put a break on it and it was so sweet! Although freaking loud!!

Then I put a Banish 33 Silencer, in the 7” configuration, on it and it’s a freaking dream! Although a little long yet I’ve been carrying it in open country for the last couple months with no issues. In the thick stuff it’s a pain in the ass.

All this was with factory 185-200grn ammunition.

Thanks For the comparison and input, that was in 300 wsm? I would love a silencer but not aloud them here and I am thinking a brake will be to much noise when a quick shot is presented

It is a .300WSM

I think Mesa Precision is making a stock for the ultralight very soon!

It looks like there available for purchase. Only in short action though. Has anyone heard if there going to make a long action ? I e-mailed but never got a response. Looks like pretty good option.

Does anyone own of these in a 280ai? Was hoping for a 300 wsm but the longer bullet and mag capacity is making me think twice. I am wondering how much length is available in the magazine for the longer bullets that can be used in hand loading? And also wondering what kind of fps everyone is seeing with the 22” barrel

Have you been able to build any faster loads? Was hoping for a bit more fps with a 160

The factory 155 terminal ascent shot closer to 2900. I considered trying H4350 with the 160 accubond to get the velocity up but the H4831 load was so accurate and consistent that I stuck with it. I plan to tinker with it some more in the coming off season.

Just ordered a Stocky's carbon fiber stock for my Savage. Pricey, but it's my Christmas gift to me. Will let y'all know how it fits and works (and weighs). Should get my rig down to 6 lbs. 6 oz. scoped

Do you know what the original stock weighs?
