Need a boat gun. Lots of bears where I fish and typically they surprise you so don’t have a ton of time to set up for a shot. Honestly looking for one that’s scratched and used, because that’s what’s going to happen to it in my care.

What’s your budget? Honestly with what they are selling for on gun brokerage and privately ($1500 plus) I’d suggest a 12ga shotgun. $400 and your covered.

I'd use something else and wait a little bit. When Ruger/Marlin starts pushing new stuff out the price should come down.

What about a Henry? I love my Marlin, but the price of those things right now is insane, even the Remlins. Plus, Henry makes a top notch lever gun and probably has the best customer service around.
