Looking at getting a pair of Simms G3 waders for an upcoming AK moose hunt. Should I go with a stocking foot or boot foot?

Stocking foot 100%.

You’ll be able to choose a boot you like plus you will have much more support for hiking.

I use the g3 waders and g3 boots.

Haven’t regretted the stocking foot. I even used some seal skin socks for exploring overland using the simms lite wader boots as hikers. Couldn’t do that with booted waders.

Stocking foot is THE way to go, with a decent pair of vibram sole wading boots meant for walking. Felt soles are illegal in AK and studded sole is unnecessary.

Remember the boiling water trick on super cold morning when your wading boots are frozen. One cup boiling water in each boot before you slip them on will melt the ice and warm your toes in the best way imaginable!
