I’ve done a lot of research for a new spotter and leaning toward the Swaro STS/65 Just not sure about the eyepiece. 20-60 will give me more range, but I’ve heard the 25-50 wide angle is better. Is it clearer, more definition? I’m not concerned about the extra $150, I want to get the best eyepiece for this spotting scope.

For me, wide every time. Sometimes conditions will let 60x be a slight advantage over 50x, but much of the time mirage, low light, etc make 60x not much better than 50x. On the other hand, the wide angle eyepiece makes everything else better all the time. You don't have to move the scope as much, and it's just way nicer to look through.

Hands down the 25-50 for me. I own both and I never use the 20-60 anymore unless I loan a scope out. Clearer, brighter, more definition and with a 65mm objective you won’t hardly ever use the 60 anyway. I don’t use the 20-60 on the 80 anymore either.
