I’m not sure how that’s possible. The ring does not extend back beyond the receiver and shouldn’t interfere with the bolt throw even when flipped around.

yea, if you flip the back base around and line the screws up with receiver it extends past the receiver and hits the bolt.

The way you have Talleys turned doesn’t matter. Whether they are worth a damn or not is a whole other matter and has been beaten to death here and elsewhere ad naseum. Do your own search and prepare to be frustrated.

Regardless of ring type, spacing matters. Get em as wide as possible. Less harmonics and more durable to withstand impacts.

OP, if that was my set up, I’d be looking for other mounting options!

Really? Doesn’t look like it in the pic, but must be just enough of a difference to matter. That’s the difference between it being a Bergara receiver, and mounts for a Remington 700, which have the same hole pattern. Classic tolerance stack of parts from different manufacturers that on paper should fit together but, when combined, don’t.

Anyway, sounds like you’ve got it fixed with a better option anyways, but you also could have simply taken a file to the backend of that Talley base and hit it with some Alumablack.

If you really wanna do it right, bed that rail with a liquid shim of epoxy.

It’s not at all uncommon for the talleys to be mounted the way you had them. But if you’re at all concerned with it, it’s better to just make the switch and restore confidence in your setup. Good luck with the new hardware

Yea, I’m just going to leave it that way!! Thanks for the info!

I have mounted at least one that way and it was not an issue… I thought it was, so I changed the mounting system, and it turned out to be the scope rather than mounting system
