Thor max range

Does anyone know what the minimum impact velocity is for expansion on the Thors? Best I can figure after researching the web is 1400ish FPS

I run 125 grains of 777 that smashed steel at 300 found it walking up to the target at about 250 yards I think they carry enough energy for any range you should be shooting with open sights

Barnes ez tmz is about 1,050 fps if you believe them.

You could always shoot a 1 gallon jug and see what happens...

Would love to hear more feedback on this. Trying Thors this year and have experienced the speed needed for monos with a centerfire. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a steel plate open a mono at 650fps... it’s steel. I’m concerned about slipping between the ribs and soft tissue not doing the job without enough velocity.

The first year we used them, I had my brother in law set up using 105gr pyrodex rs and the buck he nailed was 175 yards away. Complete expansion with the 250gr colorado thor.

That’s good to hear. What velocity were you able to wring out of your ML with that projectile?

If I remember correctly it was at around 1925 fps out of the muzzle
