I'm looking for a pair of lower powered binos for deer hunting in western wi, "the driftless area", where I have very few places that I can see more than 200 yards. I have a steiner hx 10 x 42, it's my first pair of decent binos. So my question is two fold. Question #1, is how do my steiners compare to the other under $1000 binos? I'm just trying to figure out how these compare to hg's, conquest, trinovids and etc.

Question #2 is I have found a used older pair of slc 7 x 42 for $700, used conquest 8 x 42 for $650, new meopro airs 8 x 42 for $700 or new steiner hx 8 x42 for $500.

What is my best option? I have briefly looked through the conquest and trinovids in 10x, I have never seen the meopro airs, and I have the he's in 10x. So far I am happy with the he's, I got to use them turkey hunting last week and was pretty impressed, but all I have had in the past was a pair of vortex diamond backs, which I don't think can compete with the hx.
