Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x42 vs 4.5-22x50

I'm going on a Montana mule deer hunt in October and I'm looking for a scope for my Savage 110 Ultralite. The farthest I'm comfortable making a shot is about 400 yards based on my current skill level

Of these two scopes, which would y'all recommend and why?

Just me but 3×15 is plenty out to 400 yards. I have a 6.5 x 20 on my coyote rifle it stays at 6.5 when i hunt, the only time it's at 20 power is when I sight in. To many close shots were I only see fur and end up missing.

Agreed, 3x15 will be perfect. I really like the reticle on that one too. The eye box on the 4.5 is not so forgiving.

Another agreement on the 3x15. The magnification range seems to be the sweet spot for my uses which are generally 400 yds or under. I think the reticle is easier to pick up on the 3-15 in a hunting situation.
