Body armor water bottles, they have a wide mouth like Gatorade bottles that makes it easy to filter into.

Wrap mine in gorilla tape and they don't freeze in my pack. Also keeps mold out if I forget to empty. no chemist so I don't know why on the mold, but works. Late season rifle hunters laugh at me until their bottles freeze.

GI surplus canteens. I don’t like sucking from tubes, so bladders are out, and although Gatorade and similar bottles are lighter, the round shape tends to roll on my hip belt.

I don’t know why but I chuckled at the “sucking from tubes” comment, possibly immaturity. Anyways. I’m a fan of the bladder. I’ve done the Nalgene and Gatorade bottle thing but keep coming back to the bladder. I find it quicker, easier, and much more difficult to leave behind (bad experience).

I use a 16.9 oz monster drink bottle in my belt pouch and a platypus 1.0 liter collapsible bottle or 2 in my pack
