Alaska's Wolf Man
The 1915-1955 Wilderness Adventures of Frank Glaser
by Jim Rearden

good read about a real-life Far North mountain man in the days before high tech gear

This book is similar to another good one, Alaska Yukon Trophies Won and Lost, in that there is no macho hyperbole about hunting and surviving Alaskan wilderness.
Frank Glaser is a "regular guy' who heads to Alaska and has 40 years of incredible wilderness experience as a market hunter then a government hunter and evolves into a field expert on wolves. Lots of good stuff on bears, caribou, sled dogs, wolf-dog breeds. I think any predator or big game hunter would enjoy this book.
