ZEISS conquest mc vs Leupold vx5

I have a ZEISS conquest mc 3-9x40 that is in perfect condition, z plex reticule. How much of an upgrade would it be to sell this optic and upgrade to a Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44 with the fire dot duplex. Looks like it would cost around $400 after selling the ZEISS which I would be willing to spend for a worth while upgrade. This would be going on Winchester model 70 extreme weather in .270win do all hunting rifle.
