Looking to get a 65mm spotter

I have both ats65 25-50 and kowa 554 so I feel I have done a good comparison. The ATS is easy to use and great if you are on Valley floors looking up or glassing longer distance. The 554 rules once up on the tops, needing to travel light and ID what you are seeing in your binos. I won't be...

    Lightweight, Durable hunting/range scope

I do like full illumination for close stalking in lowlight undergrowth but your right, centre illumination is more than adequate.

    Lightweight, Durable hunting/range scope

Re: low light hunting with the 2.5-10 NXS (MOAR). I set it to 5x, dial 20MOA and use the top of illuminated post as the aim point (on lowest setting in red). This is a good option if pushing the limits of low light as the post won't wash out the image. Great for a last minute run out on a...

    Ultralight double wall shelter thoughts?

Small weight penalty (7oz extra, 29 oz total weight) for a lot more versatility if you go stratosphire Li. I prefer having some space to spread gear around and option of 2 up.

    Ultralight double wall shelter thoughts?

Ive been running the 2 man Li (great if you use walking poles). 29 oz for a double wall. I use the solid interior which is more suited to cold winter conditions, Ill open a zip if needing summer ventilation. The only very very minor downside is not much headroom when lying down. Impressive...

    Lightweight, Durable hunting/range scope

Had a salesman try to direct me towards NX8 but went 2.5-10NX. Its a superb package and definitely capable for moderate LR.

How about new Zeiss TFL 8x40. Performance per oz and compact?

    Leupold Vx6hd 2-12 vs Nightforce nxs 2-10x42

Got both. NF is on the rifle. Reputation for reliable dialing means you become a believer. Its all about the headspace of the nut behing the butt. My VX6 was pretty sweet, Parallax set further out and TMOA reticle. Didn't need a 20MOA rail on the NF so weight (for a carry rifle) actually was...

Scope for Western Rifle in the $1000 Range?

Nice to have dialing as well. Sounds like the NXS 2.5-10 is the lightweight option.

Scope for Western Rifle in the $1000 Range?

Something like a TMOA can be good for quicker closer holdover action (under 400yds)

Scope for Western Rifle in the $1000 Range?

Gets used for 1000yd+ targets for 308. Positive clicks. Return to 0. Calibration to MOA is good.

Scope for Western Rifle in the $1000 Range?

Curious also about the reliability. Have the 6-24-SIII and it passes the test.

Help me choose a 1000 yard hunting/target scope

Totally agree. So many variables in a shot in the field vs at the range. Chances of a well placed shot LR field shot are much lower and its not fair on the animal. Practice lots at LR so you can accurately place shots at normal hunting distances.
