Is there enough difference between these two binos to ever justify owning both? (say, the 8s would be for archery, tighter terrain, more hand-holding and the 12s would be for bigger country and lots of time on a tripod?) Or maybe another way to ask this is what's an ideal/awesome two-bino setup?
Sure seems like NR hunters are big business for both state wildlife departments (licenses/tags) and local businesses (hotels, t-shirts, bars, etc) these days. CO still seems somewhat reasonable with their tag prices (unlike what WY did with it's special draw).
Is there any good place that does truly independent gear/equipment reviews? It seems like the more you hear the more you realize that the majority of reviewers are somehow connected to the company they're reviewing (free gear/swag, cash, paid trips, whatever), just looking to get honest...
I'm considering changing from my .30-06 to something slightly lighter recoiling for deer/elk (sub-500yrds). Could the 6.5prc be a good choice for that?
wiarcher, I'm a new-ish hunter headed to grizzly country Fall '24 with my bow. I've carried bear spray before and felt comfortable. For next year, I'm considering also carrying a pistol (sort of a "long" range/short-range combo). What's a basic/simple/affordable pistol that you might...
Have folks been able to compare the new Kowa 66 to the ATS 25-50x themselves? S&S has a great video, but I'm curious if other people have had a chance to compare? That video review made them seem like nearly indistinguishable optically?
A buddy and I had the A-Tag this fall. A couple thoughts: 1. It's great elk habitat everywhere...but that means there's very little condensing the elk into knowable locations (at least knowable to hunters without years and years of local knowledge) 2. The bugling was very subdued, and at times...
I'll second the glass comment. I had the 22N late archery tag this year. The elk were either pretty close where you almost didn't need binos, or really far away on a distant hillside.
