    SO Silex for tall folks?

Sorry don’t have pics. You will be fine. There is 10 feet corner to corner. In the Silex you are sleeping at the diagonal. I’m 6 foot and have plenty of room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Narwhal Equipment 8 man Tipi?

I'm a huge Seek Outside fan boy. Have multiple packs and bags from them and a Silex. Love their products and CS. I was looking at getting a Redcliff or 6 person tipi early in 2021. Then I got a recommendation in my FB feed for Norwahl Equipment. I tried getting in on their tipi testing but...

    1P tent set up

I have a Silex that I paired with a custom bivy from Borah gear. I have used it for the past year and a half. It has worked flawlessly. No condensation issues at all. Great company to deal with. Well made, plenty of room for one and gear. I've never used either of the other 2, so can't comment...

    tent help

For solo, my Sillex/Borah bivy combo is just under 30oz. tough to beat unless you go with DCF. For 2 I'd look at the Eolus or Silvertip. You could squeeze 2 in a Silex in a pinch if you had to , It would be tight though.

    Plastic bags for food

I use Zip-lock brand freezer bags and a cozy thing from Arrowhead Equipment, for weight savings and pack space. works pretty well. https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/store/p323/SuperDinnerBivy.html

    Seek Outside Silex

For solo, I'd go with the Silex. No personal experience with the Eolus. Seek Outside isn't offering the Eolus with a stove jack. Get it with the stove jack option so you can make it a hot tent later if needed/wanted. As for real estate to pitch it, that would depend on the area you are going to...

    Shelter Decision. Help me!

Just for one? Silex! Plenty large for one. Yes, you can sit up in it. And plenty of room to hang a few items of clothing to dry out. Hot tent capable, if you order with a stove jack. Mine weighs 25oz with stakes and cordage w/o a stove jack.

    Luxe Megahorn Tipi

I had one for a season and it was ok. I think they fill a niche for being more affordable. The fabric they use is not rip-stop though. That didn't deter me in anyway. Just take care of your gear. If I were looking for another in the same size form them I'd go with the Otopeak. It is lighter and...

Last 3 sleeping bags western mountaineering vs stone glacier

Badger. And I'd get a hold of Bean Outdoors here on Rokslide. Cheaper than anywhere else I priced them.
