    When I lived in CO, would wear them once the show stayed and sustained temps below 20. Now that I'm in MI, as soon as the mud starts in Oct. usually and through the winter.

    I've got a similar plan this year but going in ~30min will save me a river crossing twice a day. Without that, I'd be at the truck, in a tent with a comfy cot and eating real food (w/ beer)!

    What water purification/filtration are you using for mountain hunting?

    I carry a Katadyn Hiker Pro or Base Camp depending on the trip and always have some Aquamira as backup. Conditions are mostly CO highcountry (~11k ft) in Sept.
