If you just leave your truck on the side of the road for 3-4 days would that typically be ok? Or should I expect a ticket when I come back.
I just want to make sure I ditch my truck in a reasonable way as I bust it up a mountain.
I’d prefer not to park at a campground….. but just have no...
I use a 5 pin MBG slider. I like not having to think out to 60 yards, and I can shoot a holdover with my 60pin and hit a 6” target at 70 yards by holding the pin right at the top of a bulls back. I can also use the pin spacing as a “range finder” IE - if the elk perfectly fills my pins from top...
I’ve been elk hunting every year for nearly a decade now, but am losing out on the cabin I have always hunted out of. I now need to start DIYing it!! My biggest question is, where do you guys park your truck when you pack into the backcountry to tent hunt?!
I can’t imagine you just pull off the...
If your peanut is too small for the icon hat then I’d find some youth hats and run with those. Don’t worry about it being a youth cap.... if it fits then it fits, everything else is noise.
Kuiu icon pro is a low crown hat that has structure to it.
So it’s not a tall stove pipe flat bill hat and it’s not a shallow flimsy crown golf hat. It’s right in the middle.
I’ve seen the UV spectrum sales pitch. Real life application debunks lots and lots of things set up to sell hunters more products. Best camo pattern, scent killer, ozone eliminator, so on and so on.
At the end of the day it’s about staying still and being downwind. If you can focus on those...
I’ve had a core4element torrent rain set for about 6 years and last season I took it on a northern Canada moose hunt where it rained and I was on water constantly. Took it all like a champ and didn’t really wet out. The DWR still beads up water, but at some point all DWR fails. I think that...
Have both and wear both. They are 1a and 1b to me. Jetstream seems a touch warmer to me than the axis. Axis seems a bit more breathable and does better in wet conditions. Both are great jackets for late season and there really is no wrong answer here if you are down to these two jackets.
I sweat like a pig too. That’s why I like grid fleece. It allows ventilation better than a full fleece. The axis does a good job of dumping heat thru the hip vents. I think you’d be happy with either
Axis hybrid pants have a fleece backer and will add warmth that the attack doesn’t have. You could also get a mid-weight fleece bottom that would do the trick as well. I personally like the grid fleece mid weight Sitka option. Pricey for what they are, but fit and function are good and they are...
