6.5x284 barrel preferences

Weight really isn’t a factor for me, used to humping heavy stuff around. Also I’d rather deal with the little extra weight to be better off at extended ranges, and for a follow up if needed. Did you have 5 or 6 groove rifling?

Got A Good .308 Load for Deer?

Been using 165 gr Nosler ballistic tip hand loads for the .308 on deer for years. I’ve had devastating performance from these on deer exceeding results from 300 win mag deer kills I’ve seen.

Scope bubble level?

The Wheeler scope leveling kit works pretty nice for this. Pretty much level the rifle in a vise, set scope, and then work on the level. I actually set my scope level so the bubble touches the left hash, since on most levels the bubble diameter is smaller than the distance between the hash...

44 gr of 4064 for the 175 gr smk with Lapua brass. I’m getting 2663 FPS out of a 20” 1-11 1/4” twist barrel. This load performs very well out to 1k.
