I hadn't seen any of your post in a while and i was curious if you were still around? I'm planning a spring bear hunt in Idaho and I've got a couple of questions.
I'm looking at buying a Sawtooth or Cimarron for my hot tent set up. Does anyone have experience with both of them? Pros and Cons when comparing them? I have spoken to many that have had one or the other, but I haven't spoken to anyone that has actually used both of these shelters. I've...
This will be my first time hunting archery elk in CO and I'm trying to figure out my sleep system. I've always hunted 2nd season CO, or late Oct in WY or MT. I'm having trouble deciding on what tent to use. There will be two of hiking in 4-6 miles for during the 3 week of September 7 days...
I was curious about that. I've been successful spotting and stalking other big game animals, but just recently got into elk hunting. I guess my lack of experience would have me concerned about know when and where to call. I feel confident that I can make the correct sounds, but I'm not sure...
How would the Seak hold up as an outershell? I've been looking at the above mentioned shell and I'm torn between having something lightweight and packable or a jacket that could double as an outershell.
I'm pretty decent with a diaphragm call for Turkey so I'm going to try to learn how to call elk. My concern is that I may do more harm than good. But I guess I won't know until I'm on the mountain.
I'm going to take on my first archery elk hunt this year in Sept, either CO or ID. I've hunted elk in mid to late October in the past. My question is, how important is it to be able to call?
I’m planning a spring bear trip with my best friend and his 16 y/o son during the first 2 weeks of June and I’m looking for a little input. We’ve taken multiple backpack hunting trip out west, but this is the first to the mountains of Montana. We’ve been looking at units 316 and 317...
I'm doing a spring bear hunt in Idaho this year. I'll be taking my best friend and his 16 y/o son on his first western hunt. Due to his daughter's high school graduation we won't be able to make it to Idaho until the first week of June. I had hoped to be able to get out there earlier in the...
Forgot to mention that we travel from NC to hunt out west. When we hunt in CO we will often try to spend the night at 6,000-7,000 feet before going to 11,000-12,000. This has helped prevent the altitude sickness.
