    Putting carpet on you tree stand base so that your feet aren't on metal and there's no cold air coming from underneath makes a huge difference too

    Where we hunt in the northern zone there are always plenty of doe tags, but I know ot varies from county to county. Where are you looking at hunting?

    I like the 6.5 creedmoor because it is fun and easy to shoot. My family all use 30-06 with great success, but I like the lighter recoil for practicing and building good habits.

    I'm putting together my first western hunt for my dad, brother and I. We are thinking of going for cow elk, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this outfitter. Also, if anyone had recommendations for a cow elk hunt that uses horses that would be greatly appreciated.

    We have always let our deer hang to age. Do you notice any difference in the meat if you butcher it immediately?
