    Masculinity and Caliber Choice

From my perspective, hunters generally suck at shooting from field positions and spend too much time talking about cartridge selection, as opposed to bullet construction, based on the game being hunted.

    Hilleberg Tent Input

The Terra handles high winds really well and is incredibly comfortable for 1 person. In cold conditions, gear intensive, cold weather hunts. The Nammatj 3 GT, which I have also used extensively, would also be great for 2 people in the conditions listed above.

What kind of terrain? Rivers, swamps or lake areas? Or, hunting from ridge tops in mountainous areas?

    New Packs from Kifaru 2024

There’s more to frame design than physical weight versus durability.

    New Packs from Kifaru 2024

Yes, the curvature of the frame is similar to the semi curved stays. (Listed by Kifaru as ‘Flat/Normal Composite Stays’ on their website) In comparison to the composite stays and thicker HDPE frame sheet, of the Tactical Frame. The ARK has a more dynamic, live load feeling, while carrying...

    New Packs from Kifaru 2024

Considering all of Kifaru’s legacy pack bags fit on the ARK frame, it stands to reason, that it’s essentially the same height x width. As I’ve used the pack I haven’t felt that the depth is much different. The stand off from the padding in the suspension is about the same and the curvature of...

    New Packs from Kifaru 2024

I got my ARK frame after moose season. Which is unfortunate. I would’ve liked to have given the pack a more thorough field test, while packing this years’ bull. So far, I’ve only used the pack on fitness hikes. Generally, 3 times a week. For weight I throw my 70# MTI sand bag (filled w/...

    New Packs from Kifaru 2024

I’ve been using the ARK frame for quite a few months now. Prior to that I’ve always carried a tactical frame. The ARK frame carries loads in the sub 70lb range very well. Well built, very strong and the new foams used in the shoulder straps, lumbar pad and waist belt seem to be a significant...

    Tok Air Service

I’ve hunted with Zack. He’s got a history of legal troubles and conflicts with the many people, organizations and govt’ entities he’s interacted with. Generally, he gets guys into good hunting areas. From my perspective the cons, far outweigh the pros.

    Chronographs

The Garmin works as intended, every time. The Lab Radar is very finicky, when it comes to setup, commonly misses shots and is approximately the size of a highway billboard.

    Spotting scope dilemma

I’d recommend holding off on buying any of the scopes you listed, continue saving, then buy a much higher quality scope, when you can afford it.

    Wading boots for AK float

I’d recommend -Simms Flyweight wading boots: Sized to fit well with a light to mid-weight sock. Do NOT size them to fit a heavy-weight sock ‘for warmth’ -Simms Right Angle Wading Boot Inserts: these really help support your arches, resulting in less foot fatigue. -Leukotape P 1.5” width (BSN...
