I'm in the Middle East now. It's about as hot and unfortunately there isn't anything to hunt here. But I spend time in Kentucky whenever I'm in the US.
I use a Garmin Forerunner 245 for running and walking. The plans generated by the coaches in the app have helped my running, mainly be giving me some structure to my training. Could I do it without the watch or the app? Of course. But this makes it easier, and so I'm more likely to do it.
2 friends and I got drawn for our first antelope tags. It will be our first western hunt and we plan to go unguided on public land. We're super excited.
Running mostly, weights once a week (full body). I also used to carry heavy packs quite a bit in the Marines. I don't do it as much now outside of hunting or backpacking, but will once in a while.
I've got some good binoculars. None of us has a spotting scope yet. I've been debating about if it's necessary. My inclination is that for a first hunt where we don't care about trophies, that binos should be enough. But I'm open to advice on it. I've got the money to get a lower end one, but...
