Thinking of pulling the trigger on a used RX3 Ultra. I know they're a pretty penny brand new. $950 for bare bow reasonable? Little hesitant considering I've never shot one before and could likely get into something new for that price or better (i.e. different bow manufacturers) Thoughts...
Thanks fellas. Can't say I favor any particular bow mfg at this point but have kind of been window shopping the more heavily advertised stuff to narrow down what to try before committing to buying. My perspective is definitely changing on what to look for in a new bow. I'm fairly new to...
Seems like most of the newer hunting bows (primarily purpose I'd use it for) are much shorter than that and are sub 30". I suppose that is due to an increased appetite for speed from consumers? For example, if you go to Mathews website and narrow search to hunting bows, the 33" ata Traverse or...
I'm also considering buying a new bow. Kind of hung up on ATA right now and trying to understand a little more. Generally speaking, is a longer ata more favorable to longer draw lengths in terms of stability and balance? For example, I'm a 30" draw...from what I'm reading and understanding, a...
I suppose it's no different than buying a used/new car. Spending an extra $200 or so for a new one that comes with warranty and peace of mind may be worth it to some. Shoot what you like and spend what you want I guess!
I currently hunt with a Diamond Edge SB-1. I shoot deer with it every year since I started hunting 4-5 years ago. Probably look to get something different here soon just because I got bit by the archery bug. Kind of like owning a few different pairs of shoes or owning multiple guns I suppose...
I started with a Diamond Edge SB-1 as my first bow. It is pretty darn adjustable for a wide range of folks (men, women and/or kids). I've shot more deer with that than I have a gun in the 4-5 years I've been hunting.
I picked up one of the Eddie Bauer puffy down jackets this year too. Wasn't 100% confident the Sitka Fanatic bibs/jacket I bought would live up to the hype so wanted some bit of insurance. Fortunately I never had to use it. Sitka heavyweight merino bottom/top underneath were sufficient for...
Not sure if you committed to buying the Fanatic system or not. Buddy of mine is about your size and he went with a size large. I'm 6'2" and 200lbs and also went with a large. I was concerned that the large being a little more fitting would prevent me from layering up during my Nov bow hunts...
Guy named Mark who worked at Broxson Outdoors set me up when I first got into archery & bowhunting but unfortunately no longer works there. A shame because he was a good dude that took his time with customers and knew his stuff. I thought I heard that Broxson was getting out of the archery...
Nice buck! Good luck finishing out the season. I'll be out chasing over the next few weekends trying to find a good buck. Been some years so feel like I'm due for one soon!
