    133 grain .25-06 COAL?

    A much longer bullet

    133 grain .25-06 COAL?

I had a 1:7 25-06 build on a tikka. At the time, blackjack was the only game in town. I could not reach the lands (SAAMI spec chamber). Also could not find acceptable accuracy with those bullets and eventually pulled the barrel. Not sure if being closer to the lands would have helped or not but...

That’s awesome, didn’t realize it was in the works! Count me in on testing these babies on some game next fall.

But not high enough! Would like to see a 130-140 ELDM..although the 135lrht has been excellent for me on 12 or so animals from pronghorn to cow elk, point blank to 670. Admittedly have not tested very low impact velocity but that is beyond my skill level with the chamberings I’ve used it for.

Let's See Your Semi-Custom Tikka Builds

I have two in 25 cal. They shoot well enough for the price point (1/2 moa very consistently). Both have been a little on the slow side although I was able to squeeze more velocity on the creedmoor switching powders. I think they are a good barrel for the cost and variety of options. My next...

Let's See Your Semi-Custom Tikka Builds

I want to say it’s about 9.5lbs. I’d have to check. The prefit itself weighs exactly what PBB said it would I believe 4lbs. I wouldn’t want it lighter than 9lbs.

Let's See Your Semi-Custom Tikka Builds

After a bit of tinkering with several chamberings, stocks, and barrel profiles I have found the ONE for all of my shooting and hunting needs. Alterra carbon hunter, short action with factory bottom metal and mags, 26” PBB prefit (sporter #3) in 25 creedmoor, sportsmatch t084, and bushnell LRHSi...

Do you think point creep may lead to better quality animals?

No, I think guys will be hunting harder and waiting longer and end up killing the 3 year old pretty 4 pts that would be much nicer the next year. In my local, OTC (can get two tags) unit it’s very tough so most guys shoot the first forked horn they see. On the winter range I see a much better...

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

Let’s head up the R and D department of the Rokslide special bipod and make something perfect

Has anyone figured out a hunting bipod yet?

The hatch is a good hunting bipod. I get annoyed with it just doing range work. It’s a little sloppy and has too much play for my liking. I’ve got an atlas now that I think gives me slightly tighter groups at 600+. Lately I’ve alternated between brining the atlas and also my trekking pole...

Sirui VA-5 Vs Outdoorsmans Pan Head

So I ended up with one of these, worked well on some of my earlier hunts. In Montana this year (coldddd never went above freezing all week) and the pan function froze up completely. Took off my binos and tried with all my force but it was frozen solid. Tilt function I had to wiggle it up and...

Which guided, which DIY? (WY region G, AZ Kaibab, NV early rifle)

I would agree with that, missed the 160” buck part. Sounds doable in all of those places but may have to do all three hunts to actually get it done, the way things have been going the past few years
