Bagels with honey peanut butter and bacon is always in my pack. I use the pre-cooked bacon then vac seal and freeze. Smashes down and doesn't take up as much room.
I like Peak for freeze dried meals. They are not cheap tho, so I don't bring very many.
For most dinners I cook up a package of...
Still in like new condition, mounted on my AR and has only been to the range twice. Has the green illuminated SPR Firedot reticle. Will come in original box with Butler Creek flip up scope caps that are currently on the scope.
Asking $325 tyd, paypal gift it, or seller can cover the fees.
Check out Titan Fitness. They have a squat rack similar to Rogues that folds flat against the wall. I think they are around $250, and they always have a deal going on where you can get 5-10% off. Their prices are great and everything I have gotten from them is holding up great. I also agree...
I picked up a Vangaurd this spring in .308 and it has been a great gun so far. Bolt is smooth, and it definitely meets the sub-moa guarantee, even with cheap ammo. And I really like the two stage trigger. Not the lightest gun, with a DNZ one piece mount and Leupold VX-II it comes in at 8 lbs...
I've never had an issue with black bears in CO, and don't know anyone who has, but I always hang my food just to be safe. If I have the dog with me the dog food gets ran up the tree as well. Also, if I am away from camp I don't leave any food, or trash in my tent. I also keep all my food and...
I was in the same situation last year, pack along the old 5 pound free standing tent, drop some cash on a new freestanding tent, or go the tarp route for cheap. Went with the Mountainsmith LT2 shelter, think I got it for $85 new after using a 15% off coupon online. In my opinion its hard to...
For the hike in I go with a short sleeve compression shirts, either Nike Dri fit or Under Armour. Once I get to camp get it hung up and it dries super fast and doesn't stink too bad. Leave it at camp and hunt in my long sleeve merino or poly. Hopefully when the time comes for the pack out the...
Interesting. This could be a quick and easy way to get some some calories in first thing in the morning. Just mix a scoop with your cup of coffee and you are fueled up and ready to go. No way I could make it without eating real food for the rest of my meals though.
Definitely agree with rain pants not being necessary in CO. Ditch the pants and just take the Yukon top to save some weight, or pick up a lighter weight top on the cheap and go out with that.
Thought I would post this up for all the folks in the Denver area. The Aurora Gander Mountain is closing so just about everything in the store is on sale except for hunting boots, guns and ammo.
All archery items are 25% off, and they still had a fair amount of stuff left this last weekend.
I'm a landman by trade, so this thread caught my eye. I spend a ton of time looking through state and public records to determine ownership, I would be willing to bet the BLM and State Management agency have the necessary info online to validate the ownership.
What county were you in? Now I...
I was in the same position when I picked up the bow, shot everything right handed and just closed my left eye. I was nervous about shooting left handed, so I went to a local range that had free lessons on the weekends if you rented a bow and got in a couple practice sessions left handed before...
I actually used the SOL bivy this fall as my primary bivy and in my opinion it performed well for what it is. I am wide through the shoulders so I had to split the bivy in half down the middle and add a piece of space blanket to add some room, but after that I had plenty of room to fit with my...
Beta Alanine is common in a lot of pre-workouts and can cause the itching/burning/tingling skin sensation, but any rash would be chalked up to the Niacin. Yeti has 1000 mg, which isn't a lot, but if you are sensitive to Beta Alanine is can really light you up. If it gets me I usually feel it in...
Every Sunday I prep meals for the next 3 to 4 days for my wife and I, and the oven is definitely your friend. Instead of putting together a whole week of complete meals I make a large amount of basic ingredients and use those in different ways throughout the week. 3-4 pounds of chicken or fish...
I have had good luck taking a ZMA supplement nightly before I go to bed. Seems to help get to sleep and stay asleep. I have also tried supplementing with GABA (can't remember what that stands for, some sort of acid). Definitely helped me fall asleep but caused very lucid dreams and resulted in...
