I do now. Even with tight tolerances I just can't see the harm, plus I like the idea of sealing that area between the mounts/rail and the receiver against water intrusion.
And even though I haven't had to remove one that has been bedded (yet), I can't imagine it would be hard to break loose...
Hunting with horses is for people who love both hunting and horses. My wife is one of those people so I guess you could end up in that situation the same way I did but I can say dealing with horses definitely ups the anxiety level. Anything with it's own feet and brain that you can't reason...
How long have you been using Wealthfront? I have seen them advertised but I'm curious about the cash account as well as the brokerage/trade bot account.
Preference points are unsustainable with demand outweighing supply (point creep). It disincentivizes people from jumping in a game they cannot mathematically catch up with. Bonus points give holders at least some real (or perceived) advantage. I don't like the purely random-draw scenario...
While it can certainly be done, if the rifle still shoots well this may be a great excuse for you to get a new rifle. Those older M77s, especially if it is the zytel/boat paddle stock, are quite sought after now. If I were in your shoes I'd leave it as-is and snag a Tikka.
I much prefer shooting a bolt action but I'm solidly in the AR camp when it comes to predator control. I just feel better knowing I can keep pressing send until those SOB's fall down or run out of sight.
I bought the Ryobi 18V with the 12" bar and it is a surprisingly decent tool. The 4AH or larger batteries are a must but I keep it in the back of the UTV and use it to clear branches, works great.
Does anyone happen to have a photo of the full length arca on an AG alpine hunter? I'm sure I can figure it out from dimensions but I'm curious where it ends up in relation to the sling studs.
Since you already have an AR, snag a SWFA fixed power and some heavies and get a little longer-range trigger time while you decide what you want. Hopefully you already have a quality trigger group or you'll want to make that investment as well but all good ARs deserve a good trigger. And if you...
Definitely speaking off the cuff here as I've never tried this with anything else but I really like to cook game ribs in the slow cooker until fork tender then finish in the smoker. Might be an option for a brisket as well. Good luck, let us know how it turns out whatever you do.
Unless you have a monolithic upper of one variety or another you will still need a cantilever mount. Without exception, every AR/magnified optic combo I have tried ends up with the ocular a little forward of the charging handle to get enough eye relief which doesn't leave enough receiver rail...
